Apologies to the few people who DO read this blog... i haven't done this in a looong loong time...

Just finished my monthly test... which is a huge rock of my chest... studying for that Chemistry paper really gave me a lot of grief, but chances are i probably flunked it anyway... life is surely one cruel loong ride, and STPM Chemistry was certainly not intended to lure more people into doing form 6...

Tomorrow i will be doing the prelims for the school elocution contest... it seems a bit silly to be stressed about it at my age, but i am... stressed i mean. This is not meant to come out sounding smug, but when people keep telling u they expect to come out top, the only feeling u get is "OH MY GOD(no blasphemy intended), are u KIDDING?!" and run for the hills...

I think i have bitten more than i could chew... the prelims for the Public Speaking Comp(the HSBC one i attended the workshop for) sound so serious i get an urge to puke everytime i think about it... :P

have not updated this blog for a long time..... chief reason being that was too busy celebrating chinese new year...

on the 6th day of the lunar new year, i went visiting with a huge bunch of people...my gang(with the exception of Ling ni.. she was at school... pity...), Li ting, yen peng, jin xiang, wendy and the gang... altogether 15 of us...the atmosphere was fun and friendly... even with Rui Kang and jee Jing...cause by golly we've known each other for 7 years... eventhough they have been times where we've found it hard to chat(especially a certain someone since he always has to look like he is afraid i'd bite his head off or something whenever he is talking to me), i do think of these people as MY FRIENDs(FYI)

so, the new year... to friendship... friends... and everything good...

 

today, there was an article in the star about the perfect man.

anybody, what is YOUR definition of a perfect man?

i have a bad habit.. i like to hide and run away...

dunno why, whenever i am faced with a prospective embarrassing situation, my gut instinct is to dig a hole, hide or to run away...

Instance 1: Saw my tutor when I went to watch Sound Of Music... first reaction when seeing said person coming my way... guess... Well, i was definitely not thinking of greeting him( though i really wanted to), i...(it's a bit embarassing, but the people who WOULD read this blog probably already know) just went and HID BEHIND A PILLAR!!!!(even i can't believe myself sometimes...)

Instance 2: Saw a primary school classmate while shopping in Midvalley... hung my head down and proceeded to walk faster.(loser...)

I did that again today... when will i change?!

p/s: haven't seen or talked to Ling ni in a loooong time... sometimes see her on msn, but she never replies....what happened to her, i wonder?

p/s/s: i am not some type of obssesive compulsive stalker...

p/s/s: or maybe i am...

Finally, it's back to school. Can't help feeling that my holidays went by faster than i wanted it to. Nevermind, CNY is not that very far away....

This would be a tough year, with all the exams and all. But strangely, i am not that very scared(or pressured). Perhaps it's that feeling that no matter how bad i do, i'll still have my safety net(since the requirements for studying that, at least at college level, is not that very high)... as for SATs, worse come to worse i don't take it lar....eventhough that does seems a bit out of character of me... Guess the rejection and time spent in form 6 has done my ego in and changed my type A personality... well...

Happy New Year... It's the dawn of a new year, and one more step closer to STPM... *sigh*

This past holiday i have totally neglected my studies, so from 3 January onwards... must work harder...

and, today i saw a Pantomine.. "Cinderella" by The Actor's Studio in KLPAC. Pretty entertaining.... Elaine Daly, who plays Cinderella was quite a beauty as well. and they really managed to poke fun at the current issues in Malaysia.

personally, i will be the first to admit that i like Jang Dong Gun... hold on a mo, cross that out, i LOVE him... but even I cannot tolerate The Promise.

no offence to fellow Jang Dong Gun fans out there ( perhaps people like Min Fuah), but the whole movie was hilarious( something i don't think the director actually set out to do), here are a few examples of the corn-fest:

1. the "tear jerking(not)""LOVE STORY"(huge emphasis on quatation mark) crafted by the author was...(well... lets just say that M&B has better romances)... the line that reportedly made legions of fans cry: I quote "²»ÒªËÀ£¬ºÃºÃ»îÏÂÈ¥¡°¡£ sure, i had tears in my eyes... from laughing too much. belly-aching funny? sure... cornily(is there such a word?!)cliche?yup... touching?NO!

2. other examples of cliche/corniness/plain sad(as in pathetic)

• ÕæÕýµÄËÙ¶ÈÊÇ¿´²»µ½µÄ£¬¾ÍÏó·çÆðÔÆÓ¿£¬¾ÍÏóÄã²»ÖªµÀÂäҶʲôʱºò»áµôÏÂÀ´£¬Ó¤¶ùºÎʱ»á³¤³öµÚÒ»¿ÅÑÀ£¬¾ÍÏóÄ㼸ʱ»á°®ÉÏÒ»¸öÈËÒ»Ñù¡£¡£¡££¨am only quoting by memory, by what IS he trying to say? mind you, he said it not once, but TWICE!)
• the bad guy says:Äã»ÙÁËÎÒ×öºÃÈ˵Ļú»á¡£¡£¡£ as if he has anybody else to blame other than himself... perhaps his parents, for not giving him a good spanking...

3. cecilia cheong is ok..(though i don't like her, there may be people who do) but she is sure no Helen Of Troy... who is the director trying to fool?!

so.. altogether, didn't Jang Dong Gun had better choices?!

a TV series that i was watching just ended... don't laugh at me... i am talking about ½ðÅƱùÈË¡£¡£¡£ that TVB series on 8TV..

i know at out age and of our generation we are suppose to poke fun at TVB serials... being fake and corny and all... but i found this show seriously funny.. and the grouping between ³ÂºÀ who played ¸ßì³ and ¸ÇÃùêÍwho played Áîºüϲwonderfully matched and a beautiful pair... periodical dramas are not really my cup of tea, but this was so outrageous that they actually managed to be funny..

¸ÇÃùêÍis quite convincing as a girl disguising as a man... i think she would make a very convincing »¨Ä¾À¼, though she would be a bit too old for that..

besides that, i am watching É©É©Ê®¾ÅËê¡£¡£ that korean drama on ntv7... although i already know that the girl will finally be paired of with the other guy (seriously not my type) instead of the guy i want her to be paired with (to the T), i am still religiously following the show...doesn't hurt to get some eye candy once in a while...those of u who know,KNOW what i am talking about...weird that he can be such a nice guy in one show and such a baddie in another(the one on 8TV)...hmmm

on a more solemn note, my bro is leaving for singapore on monday...

 

p/s: my dad still hasn't given the green light for BT... anyone can help me burn a few shows i REALLY want?( like the ones mentioned above?)

the was an interesting article in The Sun today... Taken Off The Independent about Female Chauvinist Pigs... the new generation of women who show the world how far(or rather or behind) we have come in "liberating" ourselves (or of our clothes,specifically)...

Personally, i do not have a very high opinion of this people. but maybe that's just me...

I've heard horror stories about people going to disneyland HK and had to fight with the mainlanders for everything... waiting 2 hours for rides, an hour for food and so on. so when me and mum booked the trip, we specifically requested that we didn't want disneyland, at least not for the moment.. But whadda'ya know, as soon as we got to HK, we were informed that we ARE going to disneyland afterall due to a mistake in the bookings, so, not to question fate(or my lucky stars) we went along with it... it IS afterall 350 HKD for a ticket ( all included into the tour)
whoever spread the horror stories must have been spilled a whole rack or spices.. cause disneyland on a saturday was pretty crowded, but not to the extent of scary...if we had gone alone, the i doubt we could have gone in, cause the lines for tickets were soooo long, but we went with a tour, so the tour guide was incharged of getting the tickets from a special line by the tourism board, which was much faster...
we got into the park at 11 am.. half an hour after it officially opens to the crowd... me and my brother went immediately to Tomorrow Land, and covered all the supposely "famous" games... before lunch, we had covered Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blaster and Space Mountain ( where i screamed)... after lunch, we went to all the shows and stuff... all really spectacular.. I liked the Mickey's Philhamagic most... it's a  45 minutes 3D movie where the screen is concave and wide and things really seem like they are in front of you... when donald duck spilled some water, all the audience where sprayed with water from the hidden mechanisms, when cakes where paraded in front of Donald, gases where pump into the theatre so i could smell blueberry... and when he went on Aladdin's Magic carpet, you could almost feel the wind... much better than a similar 4D movie we saw in Shenzhen...
Disneyland at night was cold.. only 14 degrees celsius... the highlight was the firework display, which went on for 30 minutes before the park was almost due to close.... For whoever who thinks of going to Disneyland HK in the near future, i can tell you it is really worth it..
After the rest of the tour group went home to Malaysia the next day, we stayed on for 2 days more as we were originally supposed to visit my kow gong in those two days... instead, we visited my kum po (kow gong's wife) to give her emotional support...inspite of her grief, she has continued working while kow gong's body is yet to be release for ceremonies and in a weird way i think seeing us and bringing everybody out to dinner offered her a change in scenery and a respite from her grief...we went to dim sum restaurants and stuffed ourselves full of the little delights and i tasted the small kuih's that my kow gong and grandma used to love... a bit weird really, having so much fun while someone just died.. but like my yee poh(great aunt) from china says.. life must go on...
The time we had, we really got to see HK... before that the tour was so packed we could hardly wander off by ourselves... we took the tram to the peak and took pictures(Madam Tussaud's was unfortunately closed), took the ferry from HK island to Kowloon, went to Snoopy's World in Sha Tin and wandered around on the MRT... i've discovered two of my favourite shops in HK, which are almost on every street there... Aji-Iciban and Bossini's. Aji Iciban is in KL as well, but the ones they have there are so cheap(compared to outlets in KL) and sooo many more choices... Bossini is a clothing label like PDI in KL, but not carried here... eventhough all the clothes there where long sleeve and hardly practical for Malaysian weather, i couldn't stop myself admiring the lovely designs and the affordability of it all... My aunt says i will surely go crazy if i went there in summer... but it's a catch-22... if i went there in summer it would be too hot to do anything, and if i went there in autumn ( like i just did) it would be too cold to buy anything...

22 Nov, we came home, after a week away... the day before we went to my kow gong's old room and gave jossticks as a sign of respect... I couldn't help but get teary eyed when i hugged my kum poh..she's such a nice and loving person... i sure hope to see her again soon...
